Kukru is a Village in Bhainsdehi Tehsil in Betul District of Madhya Pradesh State, India. It is near border of Maharashtra. It is located 92 KM towards South from District head quarters Betul. It is situated 30km away from sub-district headquarter Bhainsdehi. 215 KM from State capital Bhopal, Kukru Pin code is 460220 and postal head office is Bhainsdehi. Kukru is surrounded by Athner Tehsil towards East, Bhimpur Tehsil towards North , Betul Tehsil towards North , Chandurbazar tahsil of Amravati district of Maharashtra towards South.[1]

History

Kukru Betul is the highest peak in the district. About 92 km away from the district headquarters. Korku tribe resides in this area. For this reason only this area is known as Kukru. Its height is 1137 meters from the sea level. It is very pleasant to see the rising sun from here and to see the sun that is sunset. Kukru is also famous for quite a gardens. This natural site is covered with forests from all four sides.

बैतूल जिला सतपुड़ा की सुरम्यवादियों में बसा है। कुकरू बैतूल जिले की सबसे ऊंची चोटी है। जिला मुख्यालय से लगभग 92 किमी के दूरी पर सिथत है। इस क्षेत्र में कोरकू जनजाति निवास करती है। इस कारण ही इस क्षेत्र को कुकरू के नाम जाना जाता है। म.प्र. में जो स्थान पचमढ़ी का है ठीक वहीं स्थान बैतूल जिले में कुकरू का है। इसकी उंचाई समुद्रतल से 1137 मीटर है। यहा से उगते सूर्य को देखना तथा सूर्यास्त होते सूर्य को देखना बड़ा ही मनोरम लगता है। कुकरू काफी के बागवान के लिये भी प्रसिद्ध है। यह प्राकृतिक स्थल चारों तरफ से घनों जंगलों से आच्छादित है।[2]
