Aamner Fort

Aamner Fort, situated on a small triangular hill at the confluence of Tapi River and Gadga, this fort was a watchtower for the way coming from the north to Vidarbha. Base Village is Amaner in District Amravati of Maharashtra. It is close to the village of Dharni or Bhokarabardi. There is a Shiva Temple on the fort.

How to reach

Route: There are two ways to reach :

1. Jalgaon-Bhusawal-Burhanpur-Bhokarabardi

2. Amravati-Paratwada-Semadoha-Dharni-Bhokarabardi

The fort is a mud fort and some of its bastions and walls are still intact.

The route Chikhaldara-Semadoh-Dharni-Dhulghat-Aamner Fort is about ~80 kms. All these places are located on the route to Burhanpur (MP) from Amravati.

To get to the fort one has to cross the river (not much water in dry months).
