Vana Parva, Mahabharata/Book III Chapter 82 mentions names Pilgrims. Bhadrakarneswara (भद्रकर्णेश्वर) (Tirtha) is mentioned in Mahabharata (III.82.35).[1].... Then, O lord of men, the pilgrim should repair to Rudravarta (रुद्रावर्त) (III.82.33). Bathing there, one ascendeth to heaven. Bathing at the confluence of the Ganga and the Saraswati, a person obtaineth the merit of the horse-sacrifice and also ascendeth to heaven. Proceeding next to Bhadrakarneswara (भद्रकर्णेश्वर) (III.82.35) and worshipping the gods duly, one, without sinking into distress, becometh adored in heaven.
