Author (Laxman Burdak) visited Bijori on 13.08.1988, 18.10.1988, 15.04.1989, 17.04.1989, 04.07.1989 and 15.07.1989 as Divisional Forest Officer West Chhindwara (T) Division for the inspection of the Forests.

Inauguration of Balak Shayan Bhawan Bharia Ashram Bijori, Tamia - 17.04.1989

On 17.04.1989 we started our journey from Chhindwara at 8.00 in the morning to take part in Inauguration of Balak Shayan Bhawan Bharia Ashram Bijori. Those present during inauguration were Ex Minister Paras Ram Dhurve, Damua MLA Anusuiya Uikey, Collector Chhindwara Antoni JC Disa, Laxman Ram Burdak Divisional Forest Officer West Chhindwara (T) Division, SDO Forest US Sharma and Range Officer Tamia Amule, X.En. PWD AL Sancheti. The object was to create educational and residential facilities for the aboriginal tribe Bharias inhabiting remote Patalkot area with an integrated and coordinated efforts of Forest Department, the Revenue Department and Tamia Development Authority. Balak Shayan Bhawan Bharia Ashram Bijori in Tamia Tahsil of Chhindwara district was constructed by the Forest Department. Some pictures of the inauguration ceremony are given here.
