Pincode of the village is 344011. It is situated 80km away from Sheo town and 107km away from Barmer city. Girab has got its own gram panchayat. Kubriya, Bikoosi and Asari Sindhiyan are some of the nearby villages.

History
James Tod writes that the Bhatti Chief Rawal Kehar II's 3d son, Kailan, forcibly seized Beekumpoor, the appanage of his elder brother Soma, who departed with all his bassies and settled at Giraup.[1]
