Jhanjharpur is a village in Madhubani district in Bihar.

Location

Jhanjharpur is located in the foothills of the Himalayas, on the bank of the Kamala River. The river is formed from the confluence of two separate rivers, the Kamla and the Balan.

Origin of name

History

Sarisab, Sarbasima, Naruar, Mahrail, Majhoura, Simra, Sukhet, Lalgang, Kuchbi, etc are nearby villages. The topography of this place is beautiful and the land is immensely fertile.

Probably the town was capital of Jhanjhar people during Bharshiv Naga rule. They moved to Rajasthan after the fall of their rule here.
