Jia Sarai

Jia Sarai (जिया सराय) is a village in south Delhi. It comes under Malviya Nagar Vidhan Sabha constituency.

History

Jia Sarai was land of Jats of nearby village Katwaria Sarai. The Jats gifted Jia Sarai land to poor Brahmins. It was a Brahmin village with no Jat families but after independence of India many Jat families from Haryana have shifted here. Jats all together in Jia Sarai holds more land than Brahmins and now the Jats all united in this village are very strong politically, financially and socially.
