Karnias

Karnias (कारनियस)/Karniyas (कारनियस) is a gotra of Jats.

Origin

Marco Polo passing through Iran on his way to Yuan China, wrote about Caraunas or Karniyas Jats. The Karniyas were one of Amir Taimur's major rivals. They ruled over major parts of northern Afghanistan like Kunduz and Baghlan.
