Location

Khursel Waterfall is located about 9 km from Gudabeda. It is on the Khursel River. It is situated 40kms north west of Narayanpur.

One can enter Khursel Valley from Narayanpur - Koyali Beda and at a distance of 9 km from Khursel Valley is Khursel Waterfalls.

Kurschel Valley

Kurschel valley: It is situated 40kms north west of Narayanpur. A very narrow sheltered valley surrounded on the three sides, north, east and south by high ridges and belt of protected forests in the west. The valley is about 9.5kms long and 4kms wide.

The Kurschel valley has lot many wildlife and scenic beauty to see making it one of the best destinations in India. In the Kurandi forest four ancient Teak woods are named after the four brothers of Ramayana – Rama, Lakshman, Bharat and Shatrughan.

The forest is covered with many medicinal plants like Chloroxylon, Ventilogo and Tendu patta. Wild animals found in the forest are Bhedki, four horned antelope, bison, blackbuck, etc.

The water falling from a height of about 400 feet in the Khursel Falls, located at a distance, forms pools in several sections. At this place where on one side there is the beauty of huge boulders and on the other hand, water falling down from a sharp rocky slope presents a beautiful sight.

खुरसेल घाटी

छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य के नारायणपुर ज़िले में अवस्थित है। इस पर्वतीय जलप्रपात का प्राकृतिक सौंदर्य बहुत ही ख़ूबसूरत है। नारायणपुर ज़िले में स्थित खुरसेल घाटी अंग्रेज़ों के समय से ही अपनी प्राकृतिक सुंदरता के लिए काफ़ी प्रसिद्ध रही है। यहाँ गुड़ाबेड़ा से करीब 9 कि.मी. की दूरी पर स्थित खुरसेल जलप्रपात में करीब 400 फुट की ऊंचाई से गिरता हुआ जल कई खण्डों में कुण्डों का निर्माण करता है। यह खुरसेल नदी पर है। अंग्रेजों के जमाने से अपनी नैसर्गिक वन सुन्दरता के लिए प्रसिद्ध था यह झरना। यह नारायणपुर से कोयलीबेड़ा होते हुए खुरसेल घाटी में प्रवेष करता है। खुरसेल घाटी से 9 किमी दूर यह झरना लगभग 400 फीट ऊँचाई से तेज ढाल पर कई खण्डों में रूक-रूक कर कई कुण्डों का निर्माण करता है। इसके आसपास पाषाणीय सुंदरता देखते ही बनती है। वर्तमान में नक्सली गढ़ होने के कारण यहाँ आवागमन अवरूद्ध है।

इस स्थान पर जहाँ एक ओर वृहत आकार के शिलाखण्डों की सुदरता है तो दूसरी ओर तेज चट्टानी ढाल से नीचे गिरता हुआ जल सुंदर नज़ारा प्रस्तुत करता है।
