Lodhravana (लोध्रवन) is a forest mentioned in Ramayana (4.43.13) .

Origin

Lodhra (Symplocos racemosa)/(Tymplocos racemosa) trees. Symplocos is a genus of flowering plants in the order Ericales. Many species grow in humid tropical regions.

Lodhravana लोध्रवन in Ramayana (4.43.13)


Ramayana-Kishkindha Kanda Sarga 43 mentions that Sugriva sends troops to north in search of Sita. He gives an account of the snowy regions and provinces of northern side and asks them to search in the places of Yavana, Kuru, and Daradas etc., civilisations. Sugreeva specially informs them about a divine province called Uttara Kuru and a heavenly mountain called Mt. Soma on which Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva make sojourn for its sacredness.

Lodhravana लोध्रवन is mentioned in Ramayana (4.43.13)[1].... "In the stands of Lodhra trees, Padmaka trees and in the woods of Devadaru, or Deodar trees, Ravana is to be searched there and there, together with Sita. [4-43-13]

लोध्रवन (AS, p.822) अथवा 'लोधमूना वन' कुमायूँ, उत्तराखंड में स्थित है। वाल्मीकि रामायण के किष्किन्धा काण्ड 43 में इसका उल्लेख हुआ है- 'लोध्रपद्यखंडेषु देवदारुवनेषु च, रावण: सह वैदेह्या मार्गितव्यस्ततस्तत:।'. [2]
