इतिहास

लगभग 1750 ई.-1800 ई. गाँव में मूल ब्राह्मण और तथाकथित शूद्र निवासरत थे। जब शूद्र असभ्य और आसुरी प्रवृत्ति के हो गए संख्या में बढ गए तो ब्राह्मणों की बहन बेटियों का घर से निकलना असंभव हो गया था। जब ब्राह्मणों ने बलदेव (मथुरा) के निकट सिकरवारों के गाँवों में पहुंचकर गुहार लगाई, जैसा कि शास्त्रों में कि क्षत्रिय को ब्राह्मण की रक्षा का दायित्व सौंपा गया है। दो भाई आशाराम और मनीराम अपने जत्थे के साथ निकल पड़े और सभी असभ्य लोगों को मार कर भगा दिया और ब्राह्मणोंकी रक्षा की। दौनों भाईयों को अब उसी गाँव में जमीन मुहाईया करवाई गई थी। तब उसके बाद कालांतर में प्रचलित हुआ: आसाराम जी के नाम पर वसाई गई असरोई, मनीराम के नाम पर मनीपुर बस गए।
