इजलास → इगलास
ग्वालियर के संस्थापक महादाजी सिंधिया ने इगलास क्षेत्र के आस-पास नजर रखने के लिए गांव गंगापुर व गांव असाबर में मध्य टीले पर किले का निर्माण कराया था। फारसी भाषा का प्रचलन होने के कारण दरबार को इजलास कहा जाता था। 1802 में अलीगढ़ क्षेत्र पर अंग्रेज सेनापति लार्ड लेक का अधिकार हो गया। यह क्षेत्र भी अंग्रेजों के अधिकार में चला गया। अंग्रेजों ने इजलास शब्द को अंग्रेजी में आइजीएलएएस लिखना शुरू कर दिया। जो हिन्दी में इगलास लिखा जाने लगा। असाबर व गंगापुर दोनों गांवों को मिलाकर एक नगर बन गया। जिसका नाम इजलास के नाम पर इगलास रखा गया।

- Viri Singh - In the fourth generation of Bakshi Singh was born Viri Singh, who was a man of strength. He got closed the kattikhānā situated near the village in Jawahargaon on his own. He went alone with sword in kattikhānā and hacked many kasāis there and handed over the rest to the police. Viri Singh was the companion of revolutionary freedom fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad. Viri Singh used to supply weapons to him. Viri Singh’s father had been the sarpanch of the village for 23 years and the Pradhan also. There is a dharmsala in his name in Iglas.
