Masood Pur or Masudpur (मसूदपुर) village is situated in south Delhi, near Mehrauli village. It has a rocky surface and in earlier times also, the land of this village was not very good for agriculture. Today, this village has been surrounded by residential colonies built on its outer lands.

Masoodpur (Hindi: मसूदपुर) is an urban village of jats located near Vasant Kunj in South West Delhi district of Delhi, India, on the hills of Aravali, between Mehrauli and Mahipalpur Village.[1][2]

The village has a rocky surface and in earlier times also, the land of this village was not very good for agriculture. Today, this village has been surrounded by residential colonies built on its outer lands.

One extreme of Masoodpur is around 10 km from Qutub Minar in historic Mehrauli area. The other extreme is approximately 5.5 km from the Indira Gandhi International Airport. The nearest metro station is Chhatarpur (Delhi Metro).

History

Village Masoodpur mainly consist of JAT .The main gotra who live here are: MALIK. In early 1400 BC, Masoodpur Village was bought by Ch Ladam singh (originated from Sonipat) from Masood khan for Rs. 500 only. Main occupation of villagers was agriculture, which they used to sell in Mehrauli Mandi to earn their livelihood.
