Mohan Lal Delu, a 12 year old boy, has been awarded "Bal shree award" by President A P J Abdul Kalam for his creative writing. As many as 22 of India's most creative children in 2006 were picked from among 9-to-16 year old boys in four categories of creativity. Mohan Lal Delu was among the five selected in Special Creative Writing category.
The Bal Shree Honour consists of a plaque, a citation, a Vikas Patra cash award and a set of books of children's interest.
He hails from Bikaner and is only one from Rajasthan to be selected for this honour.
