Nira (नीरा नदी) is a river flowing through the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is a tributary of the Bhima River and flows through Pune and Solapur districts of Maharashtra. Karha is a tributary of Nira.

Course

This river flows from Shirwal (Taluka Khandala), Satara District to Pune District and then meets Bhima Basin at Nira Narsingpur near Akluj. It then flows with the Bhima water to Solapur District. The Nira river meets the Bhima between Nira Narsingpur in Pune District and Malshiras Taluka in Solapur district.

नीरा नदी

विजयेन्द्र कुमार माथुर ने लेख किया है ... नीरा नदी (AS, p.504) पूना से लगभग 40 मील की दूरी पर बहने वाली नदी है। भोर नामक स्थान जो नीरा नदी के तट पर स्थित है उसमें कई प्राचीन मन्दिर स्थित हैं। नीरा नदी भीमा नदी की सहायक नदी है और यह पद्मपुराण, स्वर्ग आदि.3 में उल्लिखित है।
