Rajyavardhana I (राज्यवर्धन प्रथम) (525-555) was a king of Thanesar in northern India around the time of the decline of the Gupta Empire.
Naravardhana was the founder of the Shrikantha dynasty of Thanesar.[1]
History
The Madhuban inscriptions [2] and Banskhera inscriptions [3] give us information about Harshavardhana and his ancestor Naravardhana, who married Vajrini Devi, from whom Rajyavardhana I was born.
Buddha Prakash[4] mentions ....Naravardhana and Rajyavardhana I were ordinary feudatories, but the third ruler, Adityavardhana, [p.122]: enhanced his power by marrying Mahasenagupta, probably the sister of Mahasenagupta of the later Gupta Dynasty, which had carved out its kingdom in eastern Malwa.
