Sandeep Sejwal an Olympian, from village Lado Sarai in Delhi. He has dominated the breaststroke events in India like none before. He was the first Indian breaststroke swimmer to qualify for an Olympic Games and is today among the fastest breaststroke swimmers in Asia. Sandeep aims at conquering the world next. He was awarded Arjuna Award - 2012

"My mother took me to the pool when I was in class five. In the beginning, I never liked swimming and used to make excuses to skip practice. But as I improved and won medals, my interest in swimming developed", revealed Sejwal about his introduction to swimming world and inspiration in an interview.


Sandeep Sejwal has set new National record at the 2009 FINA World Championships in Rome. He clocked 2 min and 13.22 sec in the 200m breaststroke event to finish at the 32nd spot.

Sandeep Sejwal participated in the 50m, 100m and 200m breaststroke events and he surpassed his previous best in all events. He has made his way in to the FINA Top 100 World Rankings in the 50m and 100m breaststroke categories after this impressive performance.
