Shakkar River

Shakkar River (शक्कर नदी) is a tributary of the Narmada River in the state of Madhya Pradesh in central India. Shakkar River mainly Flowed in Chhindwara and Narsinghpur Districts.[1]

Origin
It's originates from Chhindwara District in Harrai tahsil from village Sukri near Surla and Khapa villages, 18 km in north of Amarwara.
Course
After origin from Sukri near Surla and Khapa villages, 18 km in north of Amarwara, flows in north of Dulhadev Parvat, flowing in west of Harrai enters Narsinghpur district.
Shakkar River mainly Flowed in Chhindwara and Narsinghpur Districts.[2] It flows about 68 km in Chhindwara district. Sitareva River also merges with Shakkar in Chhindwara.
The Shakkar River passes through 23.0°N 78.41°E and near Gadarwara it's join's Narmada River.[3]
Harad River merges with Shakkar near Kotra village in Harrai tahsil. In Kotra village there is a cave temple of Shiva called Kotra Mahadeo. There is waterfall called Kotra Waterfall. Major towns on Shakkar River are Pipariya, Bareli, Sohagpur, Gadarwara.
शक्कर नदी
यह नर्मदा की सहायक नदी है इसका उद्गम छिंदवाड़ा ज़िला की अमरवाड़ा तहसील के 18 किलोमीटर उत्तर में है। यह उद्गम से निकलकर सतपुड़ा महाखण्ड कोयला क्षेत्र में बहते हुए अन्त में उत्तर में नर्मदा नदी में मिल जाती है। शक्कर नदी को पौराणिक काल मे मधुमती नदी के नाम से लोग जाना करते थे
