Siddhatek (सिद्धटेक) is a site of temple dedicated to Ganesha located on the northern bank of the Bhima River in Siddhatek in the Karjat taluka of Ahmednagar district. The temple is one of the Ashtavinayaka, the eight revered shrines of Ganesha in the Indian state of Maharashtra and the only Ashtavinayaka shrine in Ahmednagar district.[1]

Location

The temple is located on the northern bank of the Bhima River in Siddhatek in the Karjat taluka of Ahmednagar district.[2] The nearest station is Daund (19 km). The temple is accessible from the small village of Shirapur in Pune district, on the southern bank of the river, from where it can be reached by boat or newly constructed bridge. Other routes are (48 km) Daund-Kasti-Padgaon, Shirur-Shrigonda-Siddhatek, Karjat-Rashin-Siddhatek.

History

सिद्धटेक

सिद्धटेक (p.965), जिला अहमदनगर, महाराष्ट्र में भीमा (भीमरथी) नदी के तट पर स्थित अष्टविनायकों में से एक है. यह महाराष्ट्र के वीर सेनानी हरिपंत फड़के का जन्म स्थान भी है. कहा जाता है ये कभी किसी युद्ध में नहीं हारे. निजाम की सेनायें कई बार यहां आकर परास्त हुई. ग्राम के चतुर्दिक एक परकोटा है जिस पर सदा नगाड़ा बजता रहता था. कहा जाता है कि बादामी का किला जीतने के पहले हरीपंत फड़के ने सिद्धटेक के गणेश की मनौती की थी कि यदि जीत जाऊंगा तो किले को तोड़कर उसकी सामग्री से सिद्ध टेक का परकोटा बनाऊंगा. यह चहारदीवारी उनके वचन की पूर्ति के परिणाम स्वरूप आज भी स्थित है.[3]
