Subita

Subita a resident of village Badwasi in Jhunjhunu district is a project officer with the Morarka Foundation.

Until a few years ago, she was like any other bahu of the village, wearing a long ghunghat, discharging household duties obediently. She could have never dreamed of any other role for herself.

But an offer changed the course of her life. So when she stepped out of her house to assume her new responsibility, she surprised herself with the discovery of a bold, new self, bubbling with enthusiasm.

For 33-year-old Subita,the welcome change came with an offer to work in the field of organic farming. With a fully supportive family, Subita soon learnt everything on vermi-culture and the advantages of organic farming.

She is almost an authority on organic farming and when she moves in her jeep, with a mobile phone in her hand, she generates an aura of confidence among the womenfolk.
