Surat Singh Mathur (22 August 1930 – 11 June 2021) from Mohammadpur Majri Village near Karala was an athlete who represented India in International events. He ran Marathon (42 km) in 1952 Olympics at Helsinki, Finland. He has won many medals. He also helped carry the torch in the relays for the 1964 and 2004 Summer Olympics and retired from teaching in 1992. Personal Best: Mar – 2-53:50 (1951).
