Bharunda

Bharunda (भारुंड) is name of a forest mentioned in Ramayana with reference to Bharata's journey from Kekaya to Ayodhya. It was probably located between Sarasvati River and Ganges. [1]

In Ramayana
Ayodhya Kanda/Canto LXXI mentions Bharat's Return from Kekaya to Ayodhya.....Arriving at the confluence of Saraswati and Ganga rivers, Bharata entered the woods of Bharunda, the north of Viramatsya region. Reaching and crossing a refreshing river named Kulinga, which is swift and surrounded by mountains as well as Yamuna river, the army was then made to rest there.
भारुंड
भारुंड (AS, p.666) नामक वन का उल्लेख वाल्मीकि रामायण अयोध्याकाण्ड 71,5 में भरत के केकय देश से अयोध्या तक की यात्रा के प्रसंग में हुआ है- 'सरस्वतीम् च गङ्गाम् च उग्मेन प्रतिपद्य च, उत्तरम् वीरमत्स्यानाम् भारुण्डम् प्राविशद्वनम्'. यह वन सरस्वती नदी और गंगा के बीच स्थित था. [2]
