Chandi (चाण्डी) is a medium-size village in Makrana tehsil of Nagaur district in Rajasthan.

Location

PIN Code of the village is: 341319. It is situated 30km away from Makrana town and 123km away from Nagaur city. Chandi village has its own gram panchayat. Chindaliya, Nawad and Raithaliya are some of the neighbouring villages.

With total 380 families residing, Chandi village has the population of 2081 (of which 1077 are males while 1004 are females).[1]

Notable Persons

  • Shahid Shivji Ram Rewad - Shahid Shivjiram Memorial was unveiled in Chandi village and the Government school in the village has also been named after them as "Shahid ShivjiRam Government Higher Secondary School, Chandi".
  • Bhagu Ram Fagoria (27.5.1943-7.11.2017), from Chandi, Makrana, Nagaur, was in Jat Regiment of the Indian Army. He took part in Indo-Pak War 1965, 1971 and Ino-China War-1962. He was also part of the Indian Peace Keeping Force in Shri Lanka. He was awarded number of Medals of bravery during his career in Army.
  • Bharat Kunt - Bharat Kunt became the first doctor of Chandi village.
  • Praveen Puniya - Praveen Punia is the second doctor in Chandi village.
  • Suman Puniya - Suman Punia is the first girl of silver to be a lecturer in chemical science.
  • Inderjit Punia - Inderjit Punia became the first village development officer of Chandi village. He is now assistant in Delhi metro.
  • Suja Ram Kunt - Sarpanch 2005-2010.
  • Bhawari Devi Kunt - Sarpanch 2010-2015.
  • Suman Devi Kunt - Sarpanch 2015-2020.
