Location
Jagmanpur, Kanar is situated 9 km from Rampura in Jalaun district, Uttar Pradesh. The major point of attraction here is a large masonry fort, which can be visited after obtaining permission from its owners. Panch Nada, the conflux of five rivers, in the vicinity is another spot worth visiting. Kalpi, on National Highway 25, is major tourist attraction nearby.

History
Jagamanpur fort, Built in 1593 A.D, is in North West corner of District Jalaun, the meeting place of Five Rivers - adjoining District of Etawa and District Bhind of M.P. linked with metalled Roads and Highways. Distance from nearby Town / Nearest Railway Station / Airport : Kanpur 125 km. Airport, Etawa 70 km by Moghul Road, Jhansi 160 km. via Orai, Orai 65 km.
Historical background : Fort was built in 1593 by Jagman Shah. Leaving 11th Century Fort on the backs of Yamuna River 3 km. because of erosion by the river. Presence and blessings of Sant Tulsidas who laid the foundation of the Fort and presented to the Raja one "EK MUKHI RUDRAKSHA" one DAHINAVERTI SHUNKH (Conch) and a Laxminarayan Bati. They are still worshiped & kept in the temple inside the Fort. Every year on this day a festivel / function is held by the Raja in which public also participates with Pomp & Show. A Mela is held in the village. People from far & wide come to see the Fort and the festivities on the day in the month of October and have the Darshan of deity of Sengar Rajputs.[1]
जगमनपुर बुंदेलखंड
विजयेन्द्र कुमार माथुर[2] ने लेख किया है ...जगमनपुर (AS, p.353) बुंदेलखंड में स्थित सेंगर राजपूतों की राजधानी थी। सेंगरों की उत्पत्ति दशरथ की कन्या शांता व श्रंगी ऋषि से मानी जाती है। 1134 ई. में जगमनपुर के राजा वत्सराज सेंगर थे। वत्सराज सेंगर का 1134 ई. का ही एक दानपात्र बनारस, उत्तर प्रदेश से प्राप्त हुआ है। सेंगर वंश के राजा कर्ण ने यमुना नदी के तट पर कर्णावती नामक एक ग्राम बसाया था, जो बाद में 'कनार' कहलाया। पहले इस वंश के राजा कनार में ही रहते थे। कनार में प्राचीन क़िले के ध्वंसावशेष अभी तक हैं। इसके दर्शन करने के लिए जगमनपुर के राजा दशहरे के दिन आते थे।
