Kuldeep Singh Rao (death:08.12.2021) (कुलदीप सिंह राव), Squadron Leader Co-Pilot became martyr on 8 December 2021 when Indian Air Force Mil Mi-17 helicopter carrying General Bipin Rawat crashed in Coonoor taluk, Nilgiri district of Tamilnadu. He was from Ghardana Khurd village in Buhana tehsil of Jhunjhunu district in Rajasthan.

Introduction

Squadron Leader Kuldeep Rao was recruited in the Air Force in 2013. Although he had studied BSc-IT in Mumbai before that, living with her father Randhir Singh Rao.

The MI-17V5 helicopter of the Indian Air Force crashed in Coonoor district of Tamil Nadu on Wednesday 08.12.2021. Squadron leader Kuldeep Singh, a resident of Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan, has also been martyred in this accident. At the same time, the Indian Air Force helicopter (Mi-17V5) was being flown by Group Captain PS Chauhan and co-pilot Kuldeep Singh. In this accident, 11 other officers and soldiers including the wife of CDS Bipin Rawat have died. Brigadier level officers were present in it. During this, the whole family has left for Jaipur (Jhunjhunu) after getting information about the incident.

Actually, Kuldeep Singh (40), a resident of Ghardana Khurd village in Jhunjhunu district, was a squadron leader in the Air Force. At present, Kuldeep’s family lives in Jaipur. His father Randhir Singh Rao is a former retired Navy officer, although his sister is also in the Indian Navy. He was the only son of his parents. At present, the marriage took place only 2 years ago. Where the Mi-17 VH helicopter of the Air Force crashed on Wednesday morning, along with CDS General Bipin Rawat, Squadron Leader Kuldeep Singh was also aboard. Let us inform that in this helicopter accident, along with CDS Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat, Brigadier LS Lidder, Lt Col Harjinder Singh, Wing Commander PS Chauhan, Squadron Leader K Singh, JWO Das, JWO Pradeep A, Naik Gursewak Singh, Naik Jitendra Kumar, Lance Naik Vivek Kumar, Lance Naik Sai Teja and Havildar Satpal were martyred. Only Group Captain Varun Singh survived the accident, who is currently undergoing treatment at the Army Hospital in Wellington. Kuldeep was recruited in the Air Force 8 years ago

It is worth noting that Squadron Leader Kuldeep Rao was recruited in the Air Force in 2013. Although she had studied BSc-IT in Mumbai before that, living with her father Randhir Singh Rao. He was married two years ago with Yaswini Dhaka of Meerut on 19 November 2019. At the same time, one of his sisters, Abhita, is working as a Deputy Commandant in the Indian Coast Guard. Mother Kamala Devi is a housewife. Since this accident, there is a gloomy atmosphere in Ghardana Khurd of Chirawa’s ancestral village, while there has been a furore in the family.

जीवन परिचय

कुन्नूर हेलीकॉप्टर हादसे में सीडीएस जनरल रावत के साथ झुंझुनूं जिले के घरडाना खुर्द निवासी स्क्वॉड्रन लीडर कुलदीप राव ने भी अपनी शहादत दी है। शहीद कुलदीप के पिता भी नेवी में अधिकारी हैं और बहन अभिता इंडियन कोस्ट गार्ड में डिप्टी कमांडेंट है। शहीद की पत्नी यशस्विनी ढाका मेरठ की बेटी हैं। कुलदीप अपने माता पिता के इकलौते बेटे थे।

Incidence of helicopter crash 8.12.2021

On 8 December 2021, General Rawat, his wife and members of his staff were amongst 10 passengers and 4 crew members aboard an Indian Air Force Mil Mi-17 helicopter flight en route from the Sulur Airforce base to the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington, where Rawat was to deliver a lecture. At around 12:10 p.m. the aircraft crashed near a residential colony of private tea estate employees on the outskirts of the hamlet of Nanjappachatiram, Bandishola panchayat, in the Katteri-Nanchappanchathram area of Coonoor taluk, Nilgiris district. The crash site was 10 km from the flight's intended destination. Rawat's death – and those of his wife and 11 others – was later confirmed by the Indian Air Force. Rawat's liaison officer, Group Captain Varun Singh was the sole survivor.
