List of Naga Rulers includes Piñgalo (पिङ्गल/पिङ्गलो नागराजा) = a promiscuous convention or light yelow,
Bhim Singh Dahiya [2] writes tha....Varahamihira in Brihat Samhitia mentions the people of Taxila, Pushkalawati, Ailavats, Kanthadhana, Ambra, Madra, Malava, Paurava, Kacchara, Danda, and Pingals. All of these are people from the Punjab or Uttarapatha region and apart from people of particular towns or countries, it lists four Jat clans, viz., the Ailavats, the Mallis, the Pauras, the Panghalas.
B S Dahiya[3] writes: Pangal are mentioned in Markandeya Purana and also by Varahamihira as Pingalaka.[4] By removing the suffix 'ka' we get the correct clan name as Pingala or Panghal. They have no connection with wings (Pankha) of any bird, as sugsested by Ibbetson.[5] They are now found in Mahindergarh dlstrict of Haryana.
B S Dahiya[6] writes: 118. Panghal - They are mentioned in the Satapatha Br. as Paingya.[7] This is from Pinga, the original word of Pingal or Pangal clan. Bri. Samhita mentions them as Pingalakas, along with Ailavats.
In Mahabharata
Pingala (पिङ्गल) (I.31.9), (I.48.6)
Adi Parva, Mahabharata/Book I Chapter 31 mentions the names of Chief Nagas. Pingalaka is mentioned in verse (I.31.9). [8]
Adi Parva, Mahabharata/Book I Chapter 48 describes snake-sacrifice of the king Janamejaya of the Pandava line and the names of those who became the monarch's Ritwiks and Sadasyas. Pingala (पिङ्गल) is mentioned in verse (I.48.6). [9]

विजयेन्द्र कुमार माथुर[10] ने लेख किया है ...1. पिंगल (AS, p.556): पुराणों के अनुसार संभल (जिला मुरादाबाद, उत्तर प्रदेश) का एक नाम जहां विष्णु का आगामी कल्कि अवतार होगा.

पिंगला
विजयेन्द्र कुमार माथुर[11] ने लेख किया है ...पिंगला नदी (AS, p.556): मेवाड़ में बहने वाली नदी. पिंगला, चमलावती और रमलेनी नदियों के संगम पर प्राचीन तीर्थ पिंडकेश्वर बसा हुआ है जो चित्तौड़ से 96 मील दूर है. शायद ढोलामारू की कथा में वर्णित पूंगलगढ़ या पंगल (=पिंगल) इसी नदी का तटवर्ती प्रदेश था.
