- Behat River (Xuan Zang found the cities on the bank of Behat River in 631 AD: Avantipur, Baramulla, Sopore)
- Bringhi River (Originates from the glaciers of Sinthan in Anantnag district. The river passes through a gorge at Daksum)
- Chenab River (Originates in Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh, flows through the Jammu region, into the plains of the Punjab, Pakistan)
- Chip Chap River (Xinjiang region of China to Jammu and Kashmir)
- Doda River (Forms the Stod Valley in the Zanskar valley of the Ladakh: Jammu and Kashmir)
- Dras River (Kargil district of Ladakh region, Jammu and Kashmir)
- Galwan River (Flows from southern Xinjiang region of China to Jammu and Kashmir)
- Jhelum River (Jhelum rises from Verinag: Pir Panjal in the south-eastern part of the valley of Kashmir in India. It flows through Srinagar and the Wular lake before entering Pakistan)
- Lidder River (Originates from the Kolhoi Glacierof the Jehlum River and meets it at Gurnar Khanabal)
- Nala Palkhu (Originates near the town of Saidpur in Bajwat area from the Tawi River, Jammu and south-east of Sialkot regions, Punjab, Pakistan, Wazirabad)
- Neelum River (Originates from Krishansar Lake in the vicinity of Sonamarg and runs northwards to Badoab village where it meets a tributary from the Dras side and runs westwards along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.)
- Nubra River (Ladakh valley)
- Poonch River (It originates in the western foothills of Pir Panjal range, The towns of Poonch, Sehra, Tatta Pani and Kotli are situated on the banks of this river)
- Rambi Ara (Originates in the Pir Panjal Range, Shopian, Anantnag Districts)
- Ravi River (Originates in Multhan tehsil of Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, flows to Pakistan)
- Sandran River (Originates near Nandmarg pass in the south eastern border areas of Kashmir Valley and flowing to the north west empties into Jhelum River along with Arapath River and Brengi River near Anantnag town.)
- Shingo River (Ladakh region)
- Sind River (Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir, It joins the Jehlum River at Shadipora, passes through Sonamarg)
- Suru River (Indus) (Kargil district of Ladakh region)
- Tawi River (Jammu city, the river crosses into Pakistan's Punjab and joins Chenab)
- Tsarap River (Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir)
- Veshaw River (It originates in the Pir Panjal Range, forms a waterfall at Aharbal, Kulgam District Jammu and Kashmir])
- Zanskar River (Passes through the dramatic Zanskar Gorge until it joins the Indus near Nimmu in Ladakh)
