Sachin Dagar
Sachin Dagar (Lans Naik) became martyr on 17.01.2022 after being buried in a glacier in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara. He was from village Alipur Sohna in Gurgaon district of Haryana. Unit: 21 Rashtriya Rifles.
Martyr’s last journey
The mortal remains of constable Sachin Dagar, who died after being buried in a glacier in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara, was brought to his native village Alipur Sohna on Tuesday afternoon 18.01.2022. After some time the last visit of the family members came out, then the eyes of hundreds of youths present there were blown away. The last rites were performed with military and state honors at Moksha Sthal located near the village. The fire was given by the brother of the martyr. Sachin was serving in the army for the last six years and he was unmarried.
A large number of people from around the village attended the last journey of martyr Sachin Dagar. People chanted the slogan of Bharat Mata as well as till the sun remains the moon, Sachin Tera Naam Rahega. Many youths took part in the last yatra carrying the tricolor. At the same time, an army contingent from Gurgaon also saluted the martyr.
Sachin was posted in Kupwara, Jammu. Sachin Dagar was recruited in the RR Battalion of the Indian Army in the year 2015. While Sachin’s elder brother Nitin Dagar is also a clerk in the army. At the same time, his father Hawa Singh does farming in the village, mother Veena takes care of the domestic work. The father told that he is proud of the martyrdom of his son. Told that in December, Sachin had come to his sister’s wedding at home. On January 3, he went back to his duty. A day before the martyrdom, he did a video call to his mother after a long time. Shahid Sachin’s teacher told that Sachin was a very smart student. From the very beginning, his spirits were high to join the army.
On behalf of the district administration, the Sohna Tehsildar paid tribute to the martyr by laying a wreath on the body of the martyr Sachin. Apart from this, a detachment had arrived from the martyr’s battalion, which got the martyr cremated with state honors. The army personnel instructed the people to follow the guidelines in the funeral of the martyr.
