In Mahabharata

Shvetaparvata (श्वेतपर्वत) is mentioned in Mahabharata (II.25.1), (IX.36.20)

Sabha Parva, Mahabharata/Book II Chapter 25 mentions the countries Arjuna subjugated in the North. Arjuna arrives to conquer Harivarsha. Shvetaparvata (श्वेतपर्वत) is mentioned in Mahabharata (II.25.1). [2].... Arjuna crossing the White mountains (=Shvetaparvata) (श्वेतपर्वत), subjugated the country of the Kimpurushas ruled by Darunaputra, after a collision involving a great slaughter of Kshatriyas, and brought the region under his complete sway.


Shalya Parva, Mahabharata/Book IX Chapter 36 describes Baladeva's journey along the bank of the Sarasvati River. Shvetaparvata (श्वेतपर्वत) is mentioned in Mahabharata (IX.36.20).[3].....There, on the bank of the Sarasvati, that mighty hero having the palmyra on his banner beheld a gigantic tree, called Mahashankha, tall as Meru, looking like the White-mountain (Shvetaparvata), and resorted to by Rishis.

श्वेतपर्वत

विजयेन्द्र कुमार माथुर [4] ने लेख किया है ...श्वेतपर्वत (AS, p.926) का उल्लेख महाभारत, सभापर्व में हुआ है- 'श्वेतपर्वतमासाद्यन्यविशत् पुरुषर्षभः।' (महाभारत, सभापर्व 27, 29) 'स श्वेतपर्वतं वीरः समतिक्रम्य वीर्यवान्, देशं किंपुरुषावासं द्रुभपुत्रेण रक्षितम्।' महाभारत, सभापर्व 28, 1. 'श्वेतपर्वत' श्वेतगिरि का ही पर्याय जान पड़ता है। इसका अभिज्ञान धवलगिरि या धौलागिरि नामक हिमालय शृंग से किया गया है। इस पर्वत के उत्तर में हिरण्यकवर्ष की स्थिति बताई गई है। हिरण्यक (हिरण्मय) मंगोलिया या दक्षिणी साइबेरिया का प्रदेश जान पड़ता है।
