Shweta Chaudhary

Shweta Chaudhary (श्वेता चौधरी) wins two Gold Medals at SAF ( South Asian Federation) Shooting Championships held at Islamabad, Pakistan on 24.11.2008. She won the Gold Medals in 25 meter Pistol Shooting (individual and team) events and set new games record.

She had won silver medal in 10 meter air pistol in Asian Games held at Doha in 2006. She has participated in various international and World University events and won medals.

Her family

Shweta is daughter of Sh. Ramesh Chaudhary who is Vice-President of Jat Samaj, Faridabad in Haryana. She is a student of M.A. in Pt. JLN Govt. College Faridabad.

Shooting her favorite sport

Shooting has been her favorite sport right from the beginning. She started shooting at the age 11 with winning gold medal in Air Pistol sub junior women event at VIIth All India GVM shooting championship at Phillaur in 1997. Since then she has been participating in the major national and international events.

National achievements

Some of the noticeable National achievements worth mentioning are:

  • Gold medal at 41st National Shooting Championship 1998, which led her selection into the National Squad,
  • 3 Gold Medals at 44th National Shooting Championship 2000, with New National Records,
  • 3 Gold medals at 45th National Shooting Championship 2002,
  • 4 Gold & 1 Silver medal at 46th National Shooting Championship 2002,
  • Gold medal at 32nd National Games 2002,
  • 3 Gold & 3 silver medals at 47th National Shooting Championship 2003,
  • 7 Gold medals with new national record at 48th National Shooting Championship , 2004.
  • Based on the performance Haryana Govt. accredited her with coveted Bhim Award, in year 2004.

International achievements

Some of the International achievements are:

  • Bronze medal at 4th Commonwealth Championship, England 2001,
  • Silver medal at Commonwealth Games (Manchester) 2002,
  • 3 Gold Medals at SAF Games, 2004 held at Pakistan, March 2004,
  • 2 Silver medals at Commonwealth Shooting Championship held at Melbourne, March 2005 and
  • Silver medal at 15th Asian Games held at Doha, Qatar 2006.
  • 2 Gold Medals at SAF ( South Asian Federation) Shooting Championships held at Islamabad, Pakistan on 24.11.2008.
  • Presently she is holding world rank no. 16th.
  • These achievements were widely covered time to time in many national new paper and magazines.
