Agni River (अग्नि नदी) is a river in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh. Ashapur Khandwa is located on it.

Recent explorations in the beds of the Agni, Kundala, Machikunda, Chhota Tawa, Samdeni, Ruprel and Ghorapachhar, all tributaries of the Narmada, have revealed traces of the Palaeolithic men in East Nimar District.[1] Palaeolithic tools have been discovered at Bijalpur, Barakund, Mahalkheri, Matupur and other places in Harsud tahsil.[2]
आशापुर में अग्नि नदी पर बना पुराना पुल
आशापुर (नईदुनिया न्यूज)। होशंगाबाद-खंडवा राजमार्ग दुर्घटनाओं की वजह से बदनाम है। वहीं इस मार्ग पर आशापुर में अग्नि नदी पर बना पुराना पुल खस्ताहाल हो चुका है। करीब 60 मीटर लंबे इस पुल पर रेलिंग तक नहीं है जबकि रोजाना यहां से सैकड़ों वाहन निकलते हैं। रेलिंग के अभाव में यहां दुर्घटना का अंदेशा बना रहता है। इसके स्थान पर उच्चस्तरीय पुल का निर्माण कार्य करीब दो साल से चल रहा है, लेकिन इसी गति बेहद धीमी है। ऐसे में राजमार्ग पर वाहनों की आवजाही में सुरक्षा की दृष्टि से पुल पर रेलिंग आवश्यक है। इसके अभाव में किसी भी दिन कोई बड़ी दुर्घटना हो सकती हैं।[3]
