Alakhpura (अलखपुरा) is a small village in Tosham tehsil of Bhiwani district in Haryana.

Location

Alakhpura is a Village in Bawani Khera Tehsil in Bhiwani District of Haryana State, Police Station Bawani Khera India. It belongs to Hisar Division . It is located 29 KM towards North from District head quarters Bhiwani. 7 KM from Bawani Khera. 237 KM from State capital Chandigarh.

History

This Alakhpura is a village of Tosham tehsil in Bhiwani district. Almost 150 Years old, this village was established in the name of Alexender Skinner, the son of James Skinner, the Scottish Landlord of the area by some Samota, Lamba and Jakhar Jats migrated from Sikar District of Rajasthan. This was a Mujara village.

Seth Sir Chhaju Ram Lamba or Chhaju Ram (b.1861-d.7 April 1943) was a leading Jat of India who made fortune in Calcutta during the colonial rule. As a philanthropist, he undertook many socially relevant projects. He was born at village Alakhpura, (then in tehsil-Bawani khera) in Bhiwani district in Haryana in the family of Chaudhary Salig Ram of Lamba gotra Hindu Jat in year 1861. His father had migrated from village Lamba Gothra in Jhunjhanu district in Rajasthan. His father Ch. Salig Ram Lamba along with his two brothers had shifted to Alakhpura from the village Dhani Mahu in Haryana.

The first Graduate from St. Stephens College Delhi, of this area was Ch. LajpatRai Alakhpura, who also happens to be the First MLC of joint Punjab in 1952 from Hansi constituncy. His father Ch. Dungar Mal was a Landlord and was philanthropist. Ch. Lajpat Rai Alakhpura started a Kisan Aandolan against Skinners for the ownership of land to the farmers was a Real Gandhian who passed away at the age of 105 years.
