Origin
Its name originated from Mahabharata period ruler named Ambasht (अम्बष्ट).[3]

- Amla (अमला) (Jat clan) → Amla (आमला) is a town and tahsil in Betul district in Madhya Pradesh. It is mentioned as Arammirajya (आरम्मिराज्य) in Pandhurna Plates of 29th year of Pravarasena II[4]. Arammirajya (आरम्मिराज्य) is also mentioned in the Dudia Plates of 23rd year of Pravarasena II.[5] Author (Laxman Burdak) visited it on 25.08.1993,11.11.1993.
