Bakhasar

Bakhasar (बाखासर) is a large village in Chohtan Tahsil of Barmer district in Rajasthan situated at lowest point.
Location
Pincode of the village is 344706. It is situated 85km away from Chohtan town and 135km away from Barmer city. Being a large village, Bakhasar has got its own gram panchayat. Tareesara, Rangwali and Suhagi are some of the nearby villages.

History
James Tod[1] writes that Bakhasar ranks next to Srinagar (Nagar Parkar). It was at no distant period a large and, for the desert, a flourishing town ; but now (1814) it contains but three hundred and sixty inhabited dwellings. A son of the Nagar chief resides here, who enjoys, as well as his father, the title of Rana.

According to Census-2011 information:
- With total 878 families residing, Bakhasar village has the population of 5120 (of which 2716 are males while 2404 are females).[2]
Notable persons
- Uda Ram Jakhar, Bakhasar, Chohtan तहसील, who lost life for participating in the struggle against Jagirdars of the region.
