Doda District
Doda is a town and District in Jammu and Kashmir.
Location
Doda is a district in eastern part of Jammu region of Jammu and Kashmir. Doda is located at 33.13°N 75.57°E. and has an average elevation of 1,107 metres. The main National Highway (National Highway 244) of Kashmir passes through it.
Administrative division
Administratively, the district with 406 villages, three being un-inhabited.
Doda District has been divided in two Sub Divisions viz Doda, Bhaderwah.
It has four Tehsils Doda, Bhaderwah, Thathri, Gandoh.
There are 08 Rural Development Blocks comprising Bhaderwah, Ghat (Doda), Thathri, Gandoh, Bhagwah, Assar, Marmat and Gundana. The number of Panchyats is 232.

- H K Sehrawat (Col) was from Jangethi village in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh. Unit: 8 Rashtriya Rifles. He became martyr on 20.08.2002 during Operation Rakshak in Doda District of Jammu and Kashmir.
- Harmeet Singh Samra (Major) is recipient of Shaurya Chakra. Unit: Rajput Regiment/10 Rashtriya Rifles.[1]
