Khangal (खांगल) /Khangal (खंगाल) [1] gotra Jats live in in Rajasthan.
Origin
They originated from Chauhan ruler Khangal (खङ्गल), Maharaja of Khandela.
History
Thakur Deshraj writes that A group of Tomar Jats settled at place which was later known as Badhala. According to Bhat records a chieftain named Khadgal (खडगल) settled along with his companions and made it as his cantonment. This place later was known as Khandela. Khandelawati was popular after this warrior named Khadgal. after many genarations was born a person named Badhal (बधाल). He established his rule at Badhal Village. Khandela and Badhal Village are 30 miles apart. They ruled here from 10-14th century under Bhomiachara system. [2]
In the history of Vijayvargiya community we find mention that their ancestral person was Dhanapala, minister of Khangal Chauhan, Maharaja of Khandela. Dhanapala had four sons:Bija, Mahesh, Khandu and Sunda. These four persons originated four clans: Bija → Vijayvargiya clan, Mahesh → Maheshvari clan, Khandu → Khandelwal clan and Sunda - Sarawagi clan. [3]

- Khandela (खण्डेला) - city in tahsil Srimadhopur, Sikar district in Rajasthan. Its ancient name, mentioned in Harsha Inscription 961 AD (L-37), was Khadagakupa (खड़्गकूप). Khandela was founded by Chauhan ruler Khangal (खङ्गल).
बधाला गोत्र का इतिहास
ठाकुर देशराज लिखते हैं कि बधाला नाम एक गांव के नाम पर प्रसिद्ध हुआ है। तोमर जाटों का वह समूह, जो राजस्थान में बधाल नामक स्थान पर बसा था, वह बधाला के नाम से मशहूर हुआ।

इनके भाट-ग्रन्थों में लिखा है कि दिल्ली से खडगल नामक सरदार ने अपने साथियों समेत राजस्थान में जहां अपने रहने के लिए छावनी बनाई, वहीं आगे चलकर खंडेल नाम से मशहूर हुई। यह भी कहा जाता है कि खडगल के नाम से ही कुल खंडेलावाटी प्रसिद्ध हुआ। खडगल के कई पीढ़ी बाद, बधाल नाम का एक पुत्र हुआ। उसने बधाल में अपना प्रभुत्व कायम किया। खंडेल और बधाल में लगभग 30 मील का अन्तर है। इन लोगों के दसवीं सदी से लेकर चौदहवीं तक, भूमियां ढंग के शासन-तंत्र इस भू-भाग पर रहे हैं।
