History
Lachhmangarh is situated 23 miles south-east of Alwar, on the border of the Bharatpur territory. Khair-ud-din says that Lachman-garh was wrested by the Rao Raja from Ranjit Singh Jat. But local tradition, perhaps more authentic, says, it was formerly known as Taur, taken from Swarup Singh Naruka.[1]
