History

Mastura (मस्तूरा) is a village and site of Jat Fort of Saimare Jats in Bhitarwar tahil of Gwalior District in Madhya Pradesh. PIN:475220

This fort was built 430 years ago by Kshatriya Jat ruler Rao Bhuran Singhji Semare Gotra, a deep moat was dug around it to protect this fort. And crocodiles were also released in terms of security. There are three tunnels in this fort, out of which a tunnel has come out of it also in the fort of Narwar stronghold, this fort is in a dilapidated condition today. At present Rao Bhurna Singhji direct descendants is Thakur Purn Singh (Kiledar), Thakur Radhuraj Singh (kiledar), Thakur Dhamedra Singh Rana, Thakur Virendra Singh Rana etc. (Picture credit:- Rana Akash Singhji, Page admin:- Ch.Sahil Singh Baliyan)[1]

इस किले का निर्माण 430 साल पहले सेमारे गौत्र के क्षत्रिय जाट शासक राव भूर्ण सिंहजी ने बनवाया था. इस किले की सुरक्षा हेतू इसके चारों और गहरी खाई खुदवाई गई थी व सुरक्षा के लिहाज से मगरमछों को भी छोडा गया था. इस किले में तीन सुरंगे हैं, जिसमें से एक सुरंग तो यह से नरवर गढ़ के किले में भी निकली है. यह किला आज जर्जर हालात में है, राव भूर्ण सिहं जी के वंशज ठाकुर पूर्ण सिंह (किलेदार), ठाकुर रधुराज सिंह (किलेदार), ठाकुर धमेद्र सिहं राणा, ठाकुर विरेंद्र सिहं राणा, ठा. डा.गजराज सिंह पटेल इत्यादि है.
