Whenever I was bewildered in a maze of blind alleys where I groped in vain for a ray of light at the other end, the gentlemen who led me on to light, "brightened my road and lightened my load", are my learned friends, Shri G.R. Swami, Registrar cum O.S.D., T.I.T., Bhiwani and Shri O.P. Mohan, Ex-Principal, Doaba College Jallandhar who, in fact, being men of letters, are the soul of various literary and cultural bodies in Rohtak. They are the persons who rendered me immense help by editing and proof-reading the book. They have forbidden me to thank them. Their modesty is, indeed, all the more killing.

For the exquisite design of the insignia on the cover of the book I am affectionately indebted to my artist colleague Prof M S Chahar my younger brother, Mr. J.S. Chaudhary, Sculptor-Modeller, and his colleague, Mr.L. K. Aghi, another artist, Deptt. of Anatomy and to Dr. Jagdish, Associate Professor, Medicine Department, Medical College Rohtak for designing the Tittle Page and for flawless typing to Mr. Ghanshyam, Jagdish Colony, Rohtak as well as Messrs. Bhalla Electrostat, Messrs. Ajav Sharma, Subhash Chander and Balwant Rai of The Computer Concepts, Delhi Road, Rohtak. I also seize this opportunity to. sincerely thank Shri Krishan Manava, Proprietor, Manthan Publications, Delhi Road, Rohtak, for undertaking the publication of this book and showing me full consideration all through the printing of this book.

Sentiment and duty equally impel me to acknowledge with deep gratitude the generosity of Ch. Pratap Singh Thakran, (Advocate), Ex-M.L.A., (Haryana), Civil Lines, Gurgaon; and Lt Col. Kartar Singh Dalal (Rtd.), Manager, (Special Projects), DLF Universal Ltd., New Delhi; 163, Sector 17, Gurgaon, for partly sponsoring the arduous task of collecting the sources of the book.

Brigadier O.P. Chaudhry, M.A. (Hist. & Pol. Sc.), V.S.M. (Rtd.), Amy Education Corps, Vice Chancellor, Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak, has laid me under a great debt of obligation by writing a Foreword for my humble treatise.
