Barkoli (बरकौली) is a small village in tehsil Rupbas of Bharatpur district in Rajasthan.

Location

10 kms to Bharatpur Divisional headquarters,2km to Ucchain town on Bharatpur-Sawai Madhopur state highway.

Village Kithana, tehsil Chidawa distt. Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan.

History

When did Dhankars come to Bharatpur?

Dhankar Gotra Uncle and nephew were Jodh Singh and Rupal Singh. When Maharaja Jawahar Singh was returning from Pushkar, Jaipur Maharaj Madho Singh attacked Jawahar Singh. Both Dhankar uncle nephew helped Maharaja Bharatpur to get out of the hilly place of Jaipur so Maharaj Bharatpur brought them with him.

When the Mughals surrounded Maharaja Ranjit Singh in the fort of Deeg, then both these uncle and nephew once again brought Maharaja Bharatpur safely from the fort of Deeg to Bharatpur fort. The Maharaja of Bharatpur awarded Jodh Singh by appointing him the vassal of Uchchain.

According to Census-2011 information:

With total 173 families residing, Barkoli village has the population of 953 (of which 501 are males while 452 are females).[2]
