Origin

History

Kiwara is main village of Juwania Jats. As per records of Bard Juwania Jats came from Delhi and settled at village Jarunda in Nrihara area of Sawaimadhopur. In Samvat 949 (892 AD) Dewasi Patel son of Kunwala Patel moved to place at the bottom of Ghata Bhairunji. Dewasi had two sons: 1. Nathu and 2. Anchi. Nathu was married to Gumani daughter of Nahnu Patel of Bhenrwal Gotra. Nathu had three sons: 1. Pala, 2. Bala, and 3. Rala.

Rala was a warrior and martyred when fighting with Meenas for protecting cows on Baisakh Sudi Friday Samvat 1105 (1048 AD) at place called Jharania. Kiwara village was founded by Juwania Jats in 1058 AD.

Due to good deeds of Rala he got the status of folk-deity and is being worshipped over a large tract in south Rajasthan by all communities. Rala Baba Temple has been constructed at Kiwara village in Tonk district of Rajasthan.
