Om Prakash Chautala
Om Prakash Chautala (born January 1, 1935, death: 20 December 2024) was the leader of the INLD (Indian National Lok Dal), a Haryana based political party in India. He was also the former Chief Minister of the state. However, in the 2005 Haryana state assembly elections the INLD lost its majority, winning just 9 out of the 90 seats compared to the Congress party's 67 seats. Chautala resigned and Bhupinder Singh Hooda became the Chief Minister of Haryana.
Om Prakash Chautala's wife Sneh lata Jakhar was from Panchkosi Abohar, Fazilka, Punjab.
In the Assembly elections of October 2009, he contested from two seats (Elanabad and Uchana Kalan) and won from both. His party INLD got 31 seats in the Assembly while Congress got 40 seats. He became leader of the Opposition in Haryana Vidhan Sabha.
His family
Chautala is the son of Chaudhary Devi Lal and Shrimati Harki Devi ji , Devi Lal a former deputy prime minister of India. He belongs to Sihag Jat Gotra.
Chaudhary Om Parkash married Smt. Sneh Lata and they had two sons and four daughters (all married). His sons are active in the field of social service and politics.
Dr. Ajai Singh Chautala was three time MLA of Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha, one time MP Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha each and later represented Dabwali constituency in Haryana Vidhan Sabha as an MLA. He is actively associated with several social and sports organisations; and is General Secretary of INLD.
The younger son of Om Parkash Chautala is Khel-Ratana Abhay Singh Chautala who was MLA of Haryana Assembly twice. He evinces keen interest in the promotion of spread of education and sports and is Vice President of Indian Olympic Association.

Demise
O.P. Chautala breathed his last on 20 December 2024.
हरियाणा के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री एवं इनेलो सुप्रीमो ओम प्रकाश चौटाला का 20.12.2024 को निधन हो गया है। वे 89 साल के थे। शुक्रवार 20.12.2024 को वे गुरुग्राम में अपने घर पर थे। उन्हें दिल का दौरा पड़ा। जिसके बाद साढ़े 11 बजे उन्हें गुरुग्राम के मेदांता अस्पताल में लाया गया। करीब आधे घंटे बाद दोपहर 12 बजे उन्होंने अंतिम सांस ली।
