Hirani or Heerani (हीरणी/ हीरानी) near Bhanwta is a village in the Nawa tehsil, Nagaur district, Rajasthan.

Location

Pincode of the village is 341508. It is situated 32km away from Nawa town and 145km away from Nagaur city. Hirani village has got its own gram panchayat. Haritpura, Deeppura and Lakhji Ka Bas are some of the nearby villages.

Founder

History

The village was founded by Ranwa Jats. Sahajarao was the ancestor of Ranwa gotra who left Nagaur in vikram samvat 1111 and founded village Saamikhera and constructed fort and Shiva temple there. Later on 12 sons of Sahaja founded the villages Jachas, Bhikhanwasi, Khanadi, Karkedi, Maulasar, Makrana, Bai, Buchyasi, Bhurbhura, Jabdinagar, Chausal and Hirani.

जनश्रुति के अनुसार जिस पर्वतांचल में कुचामन बसा है, वहाँ पहले कुचबंधियों की ढाणी थी सम्भवतः उसी के नाम पर यह क़स्बा बसा है. कुचामन और निकटवर्ती क्षेत्र पर गौड़ क्षत्रियों का दीर्घकाल तक वर्चस्व रहा, जिसकी पुष्टि कुचामन के पास हिराणी, मीठड़ी, लिचाणा तथा अन्य स्थानों पर गौड़ शासकों के शिलालेखों से होती है. उनकी राजधानी मारोठ थी जो एक प्राचीन नगर है.
