Karralor village

History

The history of the Bamraulia jats of Jagalpura village in maintained by Jaga Shri Saiyad Ali Shikoh, Makanpura, district Kanpur. As per Jaga the village Jagalpura was surrounded by dense forests. Land was very fertile. Cotton and Sugarcane grew in abundance. It was ruled by Jats and its capital was Pachaira during the rule of Aurangzeb. There were Jats of two gotras: Bamraulia who had come from Punjab and Karelia who had come from Rajasthan.[2]

There was a struggle between Bamraulias and Karelias. Karelia people were victorious and Bamraulia were wiped out. There was one woman of Bamraulias who could escape through the forests. She was pregnant at that time. She gave birth to a child named Chhotu Mal. When Chhotu Mal became young he asked about his ancestors. His mother told the whole story of destruction of Bamraulias. He came to this village and challenged Karelias to take revenge. He was on horse at that time. He went to Aurangzeb for assistance. Aurangzeb first converted him to Muslim, named him Abdulla Khan and sent an army with him to destroy Karelias. Thus Karelias were all destroyed. All the residents of the village at present are descendants of Abdulla Khan. Some of them also moved to Itayli. It is believed that the masjid of Bilara was built by Alamgir.[3]
