Kharwal
Kharwal (खरवाल)[1][2] Kharwal (खड़वाल)/Khadwal (खड़वाल)[3][4] Kharwan (खड़वान) Khariwal (खरीवाल)[5][6] Khairwal (खैरवाल)[7] is gotra of Jats found in Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh . H.A. Rose treats Kharwal (खरवाल ) same as Gharwal.[8] They were supporters of Tomar Confederacy. [9][10][11]
Origin
This gotra originated from place name called Kharad (खरड). They are Nagavanshi.[12]
History
Sub divisions of Tunwar
Bhim Singh Dahiya[13] provides us list of Jat clans who were supporters of the Tunwar when they gained political ascendancy. The Kharwal clan supported the ascendant clan Tunwar and became part of a political confederacy.[14]
