Untwal
Untwal (ऊँटवाल)[1] is a gotra of Jats in Punjab . [2][3]
Origin
Jats of this gotra used to keep camels (Unt in Hindi) hence called Untwal.[4]
History
Ram Swarup Joon[5] writes about Uthiraye - Uthwal: In the Mahabharat there is mention of an Uthiraye king, being present at the coronation ceremony of Yudhistra. They are found among all the religions in the whole of Punjab.
