Barach
Barach (बराच) Barachh (बराछ) Baraj (बराज) gotra Jats are found in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. In Uttar Pradesh they are found in Meerut, Muzaffarnagar districts. Dilip Singh Ahlawat has mentioned it as one of the ruling Jat clans in Central Asia. [1]
Origin
Varcha (वर्च) was a King in Mahabharata (I.60.21), (I.61.86) and name of a Country mentioned by Panini as Varchagata in Ashtadhyayi (4.2.127).

History
Barach is variant of Waraich, who are numerous in Gujrat and Gujranwala districts, converted to Muslims about 400 years ago, Griffin (p.409) gives a legend about origin, that Raja Jaypal of Lahore found in forests of Thanesar, an infant boy clinging to the dead body of its mother whose husband died in a skirmish. Raja brought the child and named Barachh, meaning found under Bar tree. On the death of Raja without issue, Waraich got the throne.[3]
