Doon

Doon (दून)^[1] Doonwal (दूनवाल)^[2] is Gotra of Jats in Rajasthan, Haryana and in Uttar Pradesh. ^[3].

Origin

Dun (दून) tribe of Jats, found in Jind, and so called from duhna, to milk, be cause they used to milk she-buffaloes. ^[5]
