Sejwal

Sejwal (सेजवाल)^[1]^[2] Sejval (सेजवाल) Sejwar (सेजवार) Shejwal (शेजवाल) is a Jat Gotra. These Jats live in Rajasthan in Delhi and in Uttar Pradesh.

Origin

They have probably originated from king named Sahajaditya (सहजादित्य).

Their local tradition tells that they were called Sejwal because they cut the hair of enemies while they were sleeping.

Sejwal (सेजवाल) (Jat clan) → Sejwada Kalan (सेजवाड़ा कलां). Sejwada Kalan (सेजवाड़ा कलां) village in Harrai tahsil in Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh.

History

The Chauhan ruler Arnoraj (r. 1133-1151 AD) had also conquered the kingdom of Kusha-Varana (Varan is modern Bulandshahr) then held by the Dod clan ruler either Sahajaditya or Bhojadeva. That it did not escape the victorious arms of Arnoraja might be seen from the first part of verse 17 of Bijolia Inscription. ^[3]^[4]
