Sangwa (सांगवा) also known as Sangwan is a clan or gotra of Jats found in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana in India

Origin

This gotra originated from Nagavanshi mahapurusha Sharabha (शरभ). [1]

History

This clan has been described by Megasthenes as the Asange (Sangwa), The hill-tribes between the Indus and the Iomanes, along with the Chrysei (Karesia), Cetriboni (Khatri), the Megallae (Mukul), the Chrysei (Karesia), the Cesi (Khasa) ,the Parasangae (Paraswal) Jat clans. [2]
